Terms & conditions

1. Voting forms for the OFM Awards 2008 must be submitted either by post or online at observer.co.uk/foodawards no later than 21st December 2007. There is no cost of voting (although voters should note that normal internet connection charges will apply to online entries). Strictly one voting form per person.

2. Every voter providing name and contact details will also be entered into the free prize draw described in these terms.

3. The prize consists of two Leisure Select return Eurostar tickets from London to Paris and two nights’ room only accommodation for two people in an executive suite at Hotel de Crillon. The prize also includes one dinner – which will be the degustation menu - for two at Les Ambassadeurs (excluding any drinks, extra dishes and tip) but no other food or drinks. The winner is responsible for all taxes, insurance, transfers, spending money and other costs associated with taking the prize (including meals and other personal expenses).

4. Guardian News & Media Limited (“GNM”) is not responsible for cancellation, delays or changes to travel times or any other part of the prize or for the inability of the prizewinner to take up any part of the prize due to problems with travel or any other factor outside GNM's control.

5. The winner will be the first entry drawn at random from all eligible entries.

6. This draw is open to U.K. and R.O.I. residents aged 18 and over.

7. GNM employees and agents (including family members) may not enter this prize draw.

8. No responsibility is accepted by GNM for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete or which cannot be entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of entry is not proof of receipt.

9. No cash equivalent or alternative prizes will be given and prizes are non-transferable. GNM reserves the right to change prizes at its discretion or to offer an alternative of similar value.

10. The winner will be notified by email or phone within 3 days of the closing date. If the winner has not accepted the prize within 7days of notification, GNM will re-draw and select a new winner (and the same acceptance period will apply).

11. At the time of notification, the winner will be informed how to book the trip.

12. The prize will be provided by a third party tour operator and bookings will be subject to their standard terms and conditions of travel, which will be made available to the winner.

13. Outward journey must be completed on a Friday and return leg on the immediately proceeding Sunday. All travel must be completed within one year of the closing date. Availability of particular dates and times of travel may be limited. Travel may not be taken on public holidays or weekends around Valentine’s Day 2008.

14. Winners may be required to take part in promotional activity.

15. GNM excludes liability for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by any entrant as a result of entering the promotion or accepting the prize. GNM further excludes liability for any injury or damage to computer equipment that relates to or results from entry to or interest in this promotion.

16. Nothing shall exclude GNM’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.

17. These terms and conditions are governed by English law.

18. Entry into the draw is acceptance of these terms and conditions.

19. GNM may cancel this prize draw and amend these terms and conditions without notice in the event of circumstances outside its control.

20. Name of prize winner will be available after the closing date by written request to the Marketing Department of the Promoter: Guardian News & Media Limited, 119 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3ER.

21. All public votes submitted using the postal or online voting forms shall be collated into a list of finalists by GNM and presented to the advertised OFM panel of judges for their final deciding votes on award winners.

22. OFM Awards shall not be awarded to any business that has (a) ceased trading (b) has been subject to a change in management (c) cannot be located by GNM; following the closing date.

23. GNM may change its advertised panel of expert judges in the event of circumstances outside of its control.

24. OFM Award winners will be announced at the OFM Awards ceremony in March 2008.
